Red Cabbage Seeds

1. Start your cabbage red seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost in your area. Plant the seeds in individual pots or trays filled with a soil-less potting mix.

2. Keep the soil moist, but not soggy. Place the pots or trays in a warm location and cover them with plastic wrap to help retain moisture.

3. Once the seedlings reach 2-3 inches tall, thin the seedlings by snipping off the excess seedlings at the base.

4. Transplant the seedlings outdoors when the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed to at least 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

5. Plant the seedlings 18-24 inches apart in rows that are 24-30 inches apart.

6. Keep the soil evenly moist to help the plants grow.

7. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer once the plants are established.

8. Harvest the heads when they reach 4-6 inches in diameter. Cut the heads off at the base with a sharp knife.
