Bombay Seeds Beet Seeds are selected for growing healthy beetroot plants in home gardens, containers and terrace spaces. Sow the seeds directly into loose, well-drained soil, keep the growing medium evenly moist and give the plants plenty of sunlight.

As the roots develop below the soil, you’ll know harvest time is getting closer when the beetroot begins to show above the surface. For the best flavour and texture, harvest when the roots reach a comfortable, medium size.

How to Use?

1. Prepare the soil
Use loose, fertile and well-drained soil so the roots can expand easily.

2. Sow the seeds
Sow directly about 2–3 cm deep and cover lightly with soil.

3. Give enough space
Once seedlings appear, thin them to around 8–10 cm apart so the roots have room to develop.

4. Water regularly
Keep the soil consistently moist, but avoid waterlogging.

5. Provide sunlight
Place the plants where they receive good sunlight for healthy growth.

6. Feed the plants
A balanced fertiliser can be applied periodically during growth, as recommended on the product page.

How to Harvest?

Beetroot develops its edible root below the soil.

1) Start checking the roots as they begin to develop.
2) Harvest when the beetroot reaches around 3–5 cm in diameter for a tender texture and good flavour.
3) The existing Bombay Seeds product guidance suggests harvesting around 2–3 inches in diameter.
4) Loosen the soil gently around the root and pull the beetroot carefully.
5)Fresh beetroot leaves can also be used as edible greens.

Tip: Don't leave beetroot in the soil for too long if you prefer smaller, tender roots.
